McGANS OOTY SCHOOL OF FASHION FASHION DESIGN DEPARTMENT FASHION SHOW REPORT – 2019

The 2019 Ooty Fashion show was hosted by the McGANS Fashion Design School in Botanical garden on May 19th 2019. The evening was not just glamorous but exhilarating. The line-up of attendees was very impressive as well as the fashion show itself.

The fashion show started with honouring our Chairman Mr.N.Muralikumaran, CEO Mr.Chandrasekar, Director of fashion design Architect.Solomon.D.Vedamuthu, and the Joint director of Horticulture, Ooty Mr. Siva Subramanian.

This fashion show marks the end of the academic year of the fashion Institute and gives students, faculty the opportunity to welcome over the guests to a professional show that features garments designed and crafted by the final year students collections based on a theme which plays a vital role in their career .Our fashion design students work all school year to turn their concepts into designs and designs into garments to a real runway setting.

Industry Experts serve on the Jury of selection, the panel responsible for determining which collection is the best based on various criteria.The two Industrial juries were Ms.Leelavathi, Fashion Designer, Dhisai and Ms.Sundaravalli.N, Fashion Designer, manager marketing in PD at Kenilworth Home In We realize that today’s fashion reflect our past and how we have moved forward through technology , fabrication and changing social mores’ to reflect today’s modern women . The show started, the models walked on the ramp to reflect the modern trend collection designed by ParveeChandra. She was Inspired by the theme Balleto Art of movement (Balletdance) and designed for autumn winter 2019/20 fusion resort and evening wear to capture the hearts directly through her collection

Next on stage was sindhuja’s collection on effiminative carve (Indian women sculptures) an Indowestern collection

The third collection was “The lock of night” by the student designer SusmitaKalai explored her collection for autumn / winter 201/20 casual wear elaborating the most simplistic method of showing the arrangements and planning prayers in her collection.

Ravi siddharath Inspiration was Eolith (Fossil) .Here his collection for autumn / winter 2019/20 women’s evening wear Illustrates how it have consumed the every part of the fossil given and delivered it in the collection

Finally Udhyasuriya showcased her designs on the theme “Squish on whisk”, is all about brushes and its languages that expressed through fascinating strokes.

The fashion show was bold and vibrant, with a youthful feel accentuates the different styles. It was very professional and the guest didn’t have enough eyes to follow the models catwalk on the ramp showcasing the designer’s creativity with rhythms of music nestled in the air .Such a show is a real challenge! And the remarkable movement is the winner of the show the BEST COLLECTION AWARD 2019. This award was given to the student selected by the judges for showing the highest degree of skill, creativity and execution in their design. The winner of this prestigious award was Ravi Siddharth .
